When Fashion changes lives

Let's export fashion

12.13.09

Who said female empowerment!?

My fellows fashion enthusiasts I came across with an article that blew my mind. I was thrilled that fashion was used to touch people's lives. In Rio De Jaineiro, Brazil a government sponsored program take female "street workers" and instructed with techniques of sewing and design in order to give them career options besides being a prostitute. I think fell in love with fashion even more. Like I always said, it is not only about the glamour and the couture but about humanity and philanthropy.

I can't help to think about those ladies that went from being a prostitute to now a working fashion designer. It makes my day.

Here are some pictures of the fashion show that took place in the red light district in Rio.
