Eco Fashion

Since people is becoming more aware of the impact that we have in our environment, we have found many ways to advocate to this cause. For example, many more designers now are using Eco-friendly fabrics that don't involve the use of harmful chemicals and bleaches to color the fabrics.

One thing I like a lot is the reusable bag. This little guy can help us lessen our demand for plastic bags and so the pollution and the oil consumption. In a personal level, one reusable bag can help us save 288 plastic bags per year on a average of six per week.

Personally, I hate when I go shopping and they give me this fancy and beautiful bags that I know as soon as I go home they are going to the garbage. There is not way I can use or save all of the bags that I receive, so people is time to get green.

Do not limit yourself though. Create and personalize your bags. By adding things like pictures, funny or not so funny quotes you can stand out not only for your sense of fashion, but also for you urge to change and save our planet earth.

Guys, I encourage all of you to put a little bit more effort to try to make a difference in this world.

Get Inspired

I am sure there are times when you open your closet and you feel you don't have nothing to wear and several thoughts would cross your mind. You feel that nothing fits properly or you need brand new things. The true is tho: You might need a little of inspiration!!


The best thing I can tell you is to go and just grab and get some ideas off Internet, magazines, MY BLOG, friends, or even your favorite movie star and I guarantee you that then you would find something to wear. You just need to think outside the box and really have fun. Start matching, laying, and pairing different items to create a complete look.

Let the fashion statement be yourself. when I am dressing I am thinking of me at all times.It might sound a little bit narcissistic, but I do want my personality and my points of view to get across, so for me is very important that I feel 100% comfortable with things I am wearing, so I can rock it!

Fashion is life and life is fashion!

so next time you need a new outfit look twice and you might find a complete new wardrobe.

Animal print is one of my favorites fashion trends because it is usually both fun and sexy. You have to be careful though!! When using animal print, make sure you are keeping a cohesive and sophisticated look otherwise you might end up looking like train rack. In this post, I wanted to show you different pieces that I fell in love with.

Can't  get enough? Don't you worry! Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready to wear Collection is all about Animal Print, but this is a different kind of animals.

I think they were some kind of futuristic extraterrestrial creatures that are ready to dominate the fashion world. 

The show was amazing from the set up of the runway with the moving cameras that were capturing all the allure of this fantastic collection to music that was Gaga Beautiful. Another relevant point was the shoes. O M G! I would have to give props to those fearless women that walked down the runway.

I can't wait to try them myself jijiji.. In all honesty all the pieces were absolutely  out this world like I said before. Love the colors that he used and furthermore I can't wait to see how this collection will play out in the future! This was one of my favorites Collection from this master named Alexander Mcqueen. 

Fashion Heroes and Heroines

I do have many heroes in fashion, but in this case a heroine. 

With her fashion super powers she has proven time and time again capable of saving us all of the agony of fashion disaster.

I've got to say no one inspires me as most as the magnificent Carolina Herrera. I guess it is her elegance and sophistication that she infuses in all of her collections. She is truly one of women's best friends. Carolina was born in Caracas, Venezuela; the South American country known for its beautiful women. It was not until 1980 that Carolina moved to New York to become one of the most renowned fashion designers of our time. Little did we know! 

Carolina's biggest success may be due to her ability to make well crafted, super elegant, highly detailed, yet effortless pieces that women love and want to wear. 

Her latest collection was inspired by the technique of woven Japanese baskets. Think Memoirs of Carolina, not a Geisha! She's able to transform a technique of basket making into beautiful pieces of art that are modern and ultra chic. In this collection we can see almost a younger Carolina. She is playful and confident, yet strong and refined. 

 Rope-weave handbags, shoes, skirts, and belts are extremely unique pieces that can make you look and feel like a million dollars.

 Most importantly you can see the love and hard work within each piece which translates to just beautiful work. The color palate I find to be very powerful but at the same time very delicate and warm. I can see women delighting themselves with each and every one of Carolina's designs. 

Carolina is not only a designer but an empire. I myself have one her fragrances for men, 212. Even though it is for men, it has that power and elegance that only Carolina knows how to deliver. Yes maaam she does!!! From jewelry, accessories, fragrances, fur, leather,  eye wear, and even a bridal Collection (Which I would have to dedicate an entire post to this one), Carolina seems to have it all!!

Getting Ready for Fall

One of the best seasons for fashion amoureux without a doubt is fall. Fall allows you to have fun by playing with layers and creating a unique look. The opportunities are endless from cardigans, sweaters, vest, leather jackets, and knits to hats, gloves, and scarfs. Indeed, it is a fashionista's heaven.  In today's economy you might think you have to spend a lot of money for a great look, however, thanks to brands such as H&M, Forever 21, Zara, Urban Outfitters, American eagle or Charlotte Russe among others, you can dress for less and still be fabulous. 

The idea is to find those key items that can add that"je ne sais quoi"  to your look. I have been looking for those great pieces, and here they are some that I could find:  

This sequins vest by H&M is only $ 34.95 which is an amazing price for piece that can be very versatile. the most important thing about this piece is that you can have fun with it. Dress it up by throwing a tank top with some skinny jeans and hills or dress it down with some shorts and flats. Either way you go you can  have that bohemian and chick look that we all want . Be prepare because sequins is here to stay. 

Another must have for this season is the Chunky collars or necklaces:

 

I personally love love love this piece because it something that I haven't seen before and it can totally help you to stand out. YES! Be the show stopper!  It is definitely a WOW piece and the good thing about it is that you can find it at Michael Kors or at Charlotte Russe. Again, you can dress for less.  

 For my guys friends,  a great pair of jeans is another key element for your closet. They can be straight leg, boot cut, or skinny as long as it the right fit for you. Jeans are very personal I would say;however; the color is very important. If you want to get the most out of them, Pick a color that you can easily pair with your favorite cardigan or t shirt. For example, Medium and Dark washed blues are very versatile and  they can go with pretty much everything. Remember, they just need to feel right for you.  Jeans are $ 39.95. I gotta love my H&M
